Qian Qihu
Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering(CAE)
Professor, Army Engineering University of PLA
Qian Qihu, Academician of CAE, presented his latest academic points on the theme of “urban construction and three-dimensional city in the new era” in the first round of plenary session of ANPCC on September 25, 2021. He has shown some academic viewpoints from the following aspects.
In terms of environmental governance, Qian proposed that the key challenge the world is facing today is climate change, which will affect not only the natural environmental, but also the sustainable development of economy and society. He stressed that it should strengthen ecological and environmental protection, adhere to the concept of “green growth”, and build a high-quality modern economic development system.
In relation to the development and utilization of urban underground space, Qian stressed that, in case of scarce land resources, an Intelligent Urban Underground Logistics System(IUULS) should be developed in the future which can facilitate the construction of logistic pipelines between general stores and residential areas, so as to achieve a high degree of intelligent logistics and promote the green transformation and development of underground space and energy.
About the aspect of urban disaster prevention and reduction, Qian advocated that lessons should be learnt from the flooding disasters in Zhengzhou to vigorously promote the building of Resilient City and Carbon Neutral City for disaster prevention
On how to build a livable and beautiful city, Qian called for the gradual transfer of the city's transportation functions to the underground, leaving open urban landscape and green space, building a livable and beautiful city, and then realizing the grand blueprint of the "beautiful Chinese dream".
