Science and Technology Innovation Corridor

2024-07-01

It refers to a kind of development area that is intentionally created with the ambition of concentrating innovative elements, high-level talents, and emerging industries for regional development. It is usually laid out along main urban arteries, providing crucial support for innovation and development. In China, this terminology was firstly used to describe the international experience of this kind in the United States, such as the Silicon Valley in California and the Massachusetts Route 128 around Boston. It was then often taken as a model for inter-regional cooperation among multiple cities. Currently, there are more than 20 science and technology innovation corridors officially established by local governments, including the most important three of the Yangtze River Delta G60, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao, and Beijing-Xiong'an science and technology innovation corridors
