New Type of Urbanization

The new type of urbanization is driven by people-oriented, industrialization, information technology, and agricultural modernization, and is basically characterized by the integration of urban and rural areas, sectoral interactions, economical and intensive, ecological livable and harmonious development. Key tasks for new urbanization and integrated urban-rural development in 2020 issued by the National Development and Reform Commission of China articulates to take county as the main carrier of the new urbanization construction, along with the development of characteristic towns and characteristic cities. As such, we can group the way of new urbanization into three categories: central city urbanization, small and medium-sized city urbanization, and characteristic town.
