2024-04-08 | Science Direct

Multi-criteria decision-making method (MCDM) is a decision analysis method designed to help decision-makers make optimal choices when faced with multiple, competing decision-making criteria. Common MCDM methods include analytic hierarchy process, TOPSIS method, gray relational analysis, etc. In the field of urban planning, MCDM methods are widely used in urban development planning, land use planning, transportation planning, etc. Through the MCDM method, economic, social, environmental and other factors of urban development can be comprehensively considered to provide scientific basis for urban planning decision-making. For example, in road planning, the MCDM method can be used to evaluate plans with different noise, air pollution, and costs, generate the best sustainable road planning plan for urban built-up areas, and improve the scientificity, rationality, and feasibility of urban planning. Promote sustainable development of cities.
