The design of public spaces in a city reflects the essence of the city's spirit and is the outcome of the interaction between multiple factors such as political, economic, and cultural elements. It is the result of the collective efforts of city managers, capitalists, designers, and the public.

In recent years, a series of urban public space design projects, such as the Huangpu Riverfront Development, have reshaped the harmonious relationship between the city, architecture, nature, and people, through high-quality humanistic designs that prioritize openness, accessibility, publicness, interactivity, and experience.

A group of talented Chinese designers, along with many internationally renowned design firms, have jointly created the beautiful scenery on both sides of the Huangpu River in Shanghai today.
