On March 31, a freight transport customs clearance ceremony was held at Boundary Marker No. 456 between China and Vietnam, marking the official launch of freight operations at the Tianpeng-Shangpeng port and a historic breakthrough in cross-border logistics.

That morning, a cross-border freight truck loaded with 30 tons of cement departed from the pre-inspection zone at China’s Tianpeng Port and headed to the inspection yard at Vietnam’s Shangpeng Port, opening a new chapter in bilateral freight exchanges. Tianpeng Port is located in Tianpeng Town, Funing County, Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It lies at the junction of two countries, three provinces, and four counties, giving it a geographically advantageous position.

The opening of freight transport at this port is an important milestone in bilateral cooperation. It will strongly promote the development of trade between the two countries, elevate regional economic cooperation to new heights, create more business opportunities for enterprises in both countries, and bring more development opportunities to local residents.

Next, Tianpeng Port will leverage its transportation and locational advantages to organize domestic and international cargo sources, attract businesses to settle, and boost trade, thus revitalizing the port’s activities. Efforts will continue to improve supporting infrastructure such as logistics and enhance service quality. The port will also accelerate applications for projects like the Border Tourism Cooperation Zone, promote integration of the port, industry, and city (“port-industry-city” integration), and build a modern comprehensive port.
