1. Themes and topics:
The content of the paper should follow the main concern of the four channels UPSC, NUA in China, Planning in China, Belt and Road, as below:
- UPSC, mainly focuses on the activities, international cooperation, and academic concerns of the UPSC.
- NUA in China, mainly looks into China's practice of the NUA (New Urban Agenda), including the contributions of the UPSC, related policies on national, regional, and city levels, and local outstanding cases and activities related to World Cities Day.
- Planning in China, mainly introduces the development of China's urban planning profession, including the making and implementation of various urban planning, terminology, administration and legislation, data and more about urban planning in China.
- Belt and Road, mainly covers key areas and achievements of the Belt and Road Initiative, and the exchanges and cooperations among the urban planning professionals.
Besides the general themes of each channel, we particularly prefer papers concerning special topics as follows:
- Planning, development, and governance explorations of the cities in China and around the world, including but not limited to specific cases (especially those awards winning and implemented), local management regulations, academic and reports about the events upon professional exchange, etc.
- Planning and development experience and successful practices for the key areas of the cities in China and around the world, in terms of new districts, development zones, urban renewal, or other development.
- Historical towns, traditional cases, historical figures, and other important historical heritages that reflect the culture and characteristics of China and other regions of the world.
- Reports on international exchanges, multilateral dialogues, and other academic or professional activities related to urban planning in China and around the world.
2. Format requirements:
- Language:English
- Paper Length:800-1500 words, including abstract, keywords, and references (if any).
- The paper should be submitted in Word format (.doc/.docx)
3. Submission channel:
The paper should be sent as an attachment to our designated email address: www@planning.org.cn.
The subject of the email should indicate "SUBMISSION + title + intended channel and column". The author's real name, organization, address, and telephone number should be presented in the body of the mail. Personal information to be disclosed by the author, such as name, organization, biography, E-mail, etc., could be attached at the end of the paper.
4. Paper review:
The paper, once received, will be reviewed by the editorial committee of relevant channels and columns, with the result replied to the author within 15 days from the date of delivery (suggestions of revision may be included). The author is kindly informed to dispose in case no notice of adoption is received.
5. Other statements:
- We especially appreciate original generations. Compiled content and pictures could be attached to the paper with the source indicated. The scale of the picture shall be not less than 600 pixels in width and not more than 2000 pixels in height, with resolution not less than 72DPI (pixels). Maps involved should be in accordance with the official standard released by the Ministry of Natural Resources of the People’s Republic of China (http://bzdt.ch.mnr.gov.cn/index.html).
- The submitted papers (including pictures) shall not contain any content that is fabricated, forged, plagiarized, or infringes other people's rights of property, portrait, intellectual property, etc., and shall not involve any state or business secrets.
- The English Official Website of the UPSC reserves the right to final interpretation of this requirement. In case of any discrepancy between the Chinese and English versions, the Chinese prevail and the relevant disputes shall be resolved by using Chinese law.
