Building Energy Management System

2024-02-21 | Science Direct

The carbon dioxide emissions from building energy consumption account for one-third of the global total emissions. To enhance energy efficiency, Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) are widely adopted. BEMS refers to the optimization of energy scheduling based on monitoring and algorithms. It is a versatile system incorporating functions such as load forecasting, anomaly detection, and optimal control. Load forecasting involves estimating future energy consumption to allow flexible adaptation of building energy supply to actual demands. Anomaly detection aims to unveil potential issues such as power infrastructure faults and end-user energy waste, facilitating improved energy utilization and infrastructure maintenance. Optimal control involves the use of algorithms and strategies to optimize a building's energy usage and performance, achieving the best energy efficiency, comfort, and environmental sustainability.
