Environmental Justice

2024-01-17 | Science Direct

In the context of social inequality and environmental issues, environmental justice focuses on the fairness of environmental resource allocation and emphasizes the participation of socially disadvantaged groups in environmental decision-making and policy-making processes. The research on environmental justice focuses on issues such as whether the distribution of environmental pollution and toxic waste treatment facilities is concentrated in areas where socially disadvantaged groups reside, whether socially and economically disadvantaged groups can access sustainable environmental resources, and whether the public has the right to participate in environmental decision-making. The goal of environmental justice is to promote fair, sustainable, and equitable environmental policies and practices to ensure that everyone can enjoy a healthy and sustainable environment.
